no big deal at all. i expressed my views as i thought u used the word village it not so comforting sense.
when u talk of environmental issues, profit and loss needs to be looked beyond money. we can’t convert everything in terms of money loss and then reach conclusions.
no war here. no ill feelings.no big deal

If you seriously think power outage is the solution. Cut the power to Google, Yahoo, Paypal, eBay, Orkut, Facebook, Pentagon servers for one hour and see the results. I think they use more power than IIIT. If power outage is the solution, I don’t know why we have 24×7 supply. We should apply for some connection which will not serve power 24×7.

Not very significant losses. But loss is a loss. If you don’t use Google 24×7, then why it is on 24×7. Just ask them to operate in the time interval when you use it. Different people have different time schedules to work. If power goes down when I am working, it worthless for me.

ok lets think logically. can the issue of global warming talked about without talking of consumption? is consumption/consumerism in anyway related to environmental breakdown? power outage is not the solution, what is? where does this power comes from? do we know the source of power? what losses did u had to face due to these 6 power cuts? how do u plan to use 24hrs of power? what is a village’s contribution to global warming in comparison to a city? is population a cause for global warming or is cosumerism?
please think about these questions logically and rationally.

@Harsh I am aware of global warming issues but power outage is not a solution. just think logically and don’t get emotional about it. Also I am not worried about the outage if its planned and people are informed about it in advance. BTW, 6 power cuts in a day, how is that justified ?

i wonder what plans you have for 24hr power usage? just a few days back they organized a 1 hr power outage in hyderabad to highlight the cause of global warming. maybe you are not aware of it. i wonder what is your definition of a village or a city for that matter?
